good run for TV

TV had a good run at the state title...had the title in their hands and pretty much blew...i thought the title was going to be brought back to the BDD for the 2nd time in 5 years but it just slipped away

51-49 and were up 3 points with 48 seconds to go...and up 1 with 22 seconds left...Vandyke missed a front end of a 1 plus 1...and TV threw the ball away(not for sure who) and Clarke Co. got a lay up off the steal and a Vandyke foul and went up 2 points after the 3 point play

It was a tough loss.. TV had a 5 or 6 pt lead with 3 min to go..and made 5 or 6 trips down the floor and either turned it over or missed easy shots. Bottom line they didnt finish off Clarke.. The turnover at the end.. was a foul that should have been called! Vandyke had no choice but try to cut him off.. The idiot ref blew the whistle on that one!! The difference in the game was Kent should have went to the line with 12 sec and TV would have probably won by 4!! Even down 2 with 12 sec left TV seemed shaken or possibly coulda been out of timeouts to set up a play?? i dont know.. but it seemed like they shoulda went straight to the hole for the 2 instead of looking to win with a 3!!
I dont know it sucks for sure..
The Region D Official was freaking re_dick_ulous.. Does anyone know his name?? He might as well been from Clarke Co. in my opinion!!

I for one am very proud of those kids they went out in a blaze and almost brought it home, many teams never get to the GAME must less win it. Hold your heads high and remember that you left it all on the floor, maybe TV should have won maybe not give credit to Clarke they battled till the end also, nothing to be ashamed of for our kids.

I do have one thing i would like to comment on and i cant do i on the VA Preps board so i will here. I dont know if you all read those boards or not but a guy named Chewin Charlie has been an ass all year long and he is from council and made the comment that TV would get blown out by 25 and never played anyone and was not nearly the taem his brothers had played on at council and on and on. Well let me give a history lesson here and tell you a little something about Whitewood and Garden Prestige and ledgends. Until the 90's to 2002 maybe in the BDD council was always a whipping boy in most every sport and was even in the 90's to some teams like Hurley and Garden and Haysi, back in the 70's and 80's Whitewood would have beaten COuncil by 100 pts if they would have liked, their star players came to Whitewood and sit the bench in the past, for someone to make comments that he felt Kent was the only one to deserve a state title also leads me to this.........it took a guy from Whitewood and 4 kids that was suppose to go to other schools to get Council started along with a ton of hold backs to win a state championship with Rick Goodman coaching, from Whitewood........for the kids that went that should have been else where well let me start Mike to Grundy, Neil to Haysi, Preston to Lebanon and Adrian to Haysi......Tiller was only home grown one there. I just want someone to let this guy know that hey you guys at council had a good run but you had a kid and a dad from Whitewood running your show and you had 8 good years Garden and Whitewood have had decades. SO for Chewing Charlie i have this TV is a good team and they all deserve state titles and Moore is not that bad of a coach either, eat some crow bro if you are reading this and realize i have no clue who your brothers where that played for council but i will bet you a dollar they didnt got D1 either, only he would know what i ment there. Oh yeah for a team that would have been put out in the first round of the Region B they took your champs to the limit and should have beat them so your ass must not have a single clue to what you are talking about. Chew on that Charles and have a nice day over in Cancel.

I'll agree that charlie is extreme and wrong in most cases, but you're being extreme too. I played on some of the council whipping post teams. As far as the boys from Council no being homegrown, the were all more than legal. Just an example in the other direction, Kory and Channie Bostic started at Council and were on the Buchanan side of the line.
All five of those boys were "homegrown" because their families all went to Council. Adrian rode the bus that went by his house, Neil caught the bus to go to the same school with Adrian. Preston's mom taught at Council. Fact is, they all started Council in Kindergarten except Mike and he transferred in 8th grade from a feeder school. Honestly, Mike was pitiful when he came to Council. Have your opinions about Charlie but don't be just like him in the opposite direction. And one of his brother's did go D1.

Hipo maybe i was a little out of control on my post to include every one from Council in that and i did not intend to mean it that way, but hey it came off that way. Give Council its due they had one hell of a run with some great players and i do not dispute that and i am not saying anything was done Illegal on Council part with the boys i mentioned, and yeah i stooped to his level which i have tried not to do but with all that has transpired it just put me over the edge. The point i was trying to make and only to him and i have no clue if he reads this board or not is that folks like him should not come out and say that none of those kids were worthy of a state title but Kent and Rick.........they are both from Whitewood and not from Council never were never will be they just happen to end up there and Rick did a great job with some really good talent and with some not so good talent......just makes me pissed when i see someone always wanting to down a area school that has not had much to cheer for in the past i mean hell i pulled as hard for Council and their teams taht went to state as anyone did i like some of those guys nah i didnt but i pulled for the area boys anyway. Hope you get my point and if i came off wrong my apologies to the good folk of council but to Charlie........man just shut up.

Daniel Knuckles..........probably known best for the fact that he was the only Knuckles that didnt make any impact on Council Basketball......guess i would hate other peoples teams and talk up big brother all i could too if i could not even end up cuttin anymore after he was thought to be the one that would be the best of the Knuckles in Little Leauge. Really after you figure out who some people are that are running their mouth it kinda makes you realize that they had not a clue about the team or the game just a vendetta against maybe certain players.......sad sad life that he leads. Hates Logan Shortridge but fact is Shortridge is a 100 time better palyer than Daniel is and ever was, the kid played against some 7th graders when he was in 3rd grade and they thought that he was going to be the big thing in Council but really he never panned out i guess he didnt have the love for the game in the end kinda sad. Also really is sad that he thinks James was good, gesh James sucked he was just big that is it period, but he did crack me up when he would run up and down the floor talking to himself.
